The title of this article is really nothing more than an obscure quote from the movie The Bourne Supremacy, but I don’t doubt there are people thinking that as I decided to take this next adventure.. A few months ago I wrote an article which outlined my thinking and what transpired to bring me ultimately to make this trip to Russia. Nothing really has changed all that much for my reasons, but I have made some strategy changes, which I hope are for the better. 2 Years ago, as I roamed across China, Tibet and Nepal, I decided to bring everyone along with me. So I documented the entire trip through my blog in order to share that adventure as I lived it. This trip I have decided to go a different route, and will focus more on video, rather than writing to document my experiences. I am hoping this will work out as I have very basic equipment, and hoping to make the best of it. For those of you that enjoy the writing aspect to bring things to life, fear not as I have a plan in place to release a second edition of my last book “On Top Of The World”, which will include this complete trip to Russia in the Europe chapter. I will also be adding a customized signature section, whereby I will personalize the book to you, and make it an actual part of the book, rather than my handwriting a message. My goal will be to make this available before the end of the year, so if you have not ordered my book already, then you now have the opportunity to received the “new & improved” version.

I have really done a lot of research and observing of Vlogging over the past several months. On the surface, it seems pretty easy, but the amount of editing that needs to be done before uploading a finished product is huge. I observed a couple of different Vloggers, and learned about all the places they went. 2 that I paid close attention to were Nate & Kara, and Indigo Traveler. Both of them have stellar equipment and cameras, and I’m not talking Go Pros & iPhones. I have become very fascinated with this lifestyle of traveling and sharing the experiences with thousands of followers. To be able to just pack up and take off for months at a time, and see the world might not appeal to everyone, but it has something that has intrigued me for many years. In fact, some would say that I have done just that, but I will only be able to see a fraction of what professional travelers have seen over a life time. Knowing that I will not be able to see every country out there, I need to pick and choose the ones that I have a strong desire to experience. Russia falls into that category, as personal and academic interest has led me to make this journey in 2019. As with any trip, there are no guarantees of the outcome. Weather, experiences, unforeseen circumstances can all play a roll in the outcome, but I believe that I have maximized the amount of activities, left a fair amount of individual time, and setup professional guides to help me make the most of this next journey. So as I say “Dobre Vecher” (Good Evening), tomorrow we start 10 days exploring The Riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
